Welcome to Foundation 1!
We are the Beacon Bears. Miss Bartlett teaches both the morning and afternoon sessions, supported by Mrs McLeod, Miss Armstrong and Miss Collins.
Our classroom is a large, vibrant learning environment with lots of opportunities to play and develop our learning. We are very fortunate to have a large outside area including a large field for the children to explore and develop their physical skills.
This half-term we have been learning about what plants need to help them grow. The children are really enjoying watching their bean plants grow and we are waiting for the grass hair to start growing in our potato head characters.
Our story this half term has been 'Jack and the Beanstalk' and we have also been reading 'Jasper's Beanstalk'.
Please ensure your child has a full set of spare clothes in their bag each day. They also need a pair of wellies and a waterproof coat in school every day. PE is now on a Friday and Library visits on a Thursday.
They all need to be named.

This week's Brilliant Bears are...
To help your children at home...
Reading stories to your child every day is a vital way to support their language development, their understanding of new words and concepts and it will support their reading and writing as they progress through the school.
Reading books together at home also promotes a love of reading and helps to support good attitudes to learning as children get older.
The children are all practising their name writing at school each day. If you also practise this at home, please support your child to start each letter in the correct place and write with only one capital letter at the beginning of their name. If you would like any materials to support with this, please speak to your class teacher.
