Welcome to Class 6, the Green Geckos!
We are Year 2s and our teacher is Mrs Davies. In the morning we also have Mrs Rowe and in the afternoon, we are supported by Ms Wilde. Our classroom is a bright vibrant learning environment with lots of opportunities to explore and develop our learning both inside and outside!
We have lots of exciting events happening this term! The children have recently had a wonderful transition 'forest school' activity with the Year 3s - making journey sticks, creating portals and toasting marshamallows on a camp fire! What a onderful way to get to know friends at Robartes.
We have also participated in Bodmin's St Piran's Day celebrations! We paraded down through town, holding our banner high! We than danced on Mount Folly and sang our beautiful song about St Piran to all the other schools in Bodmin! We felt very proud!
Recently, we have also been thinking about what we wish to be when we're older. We have visited the local job centre as part of this project! We have budding ballerinas, mechanics, engineers, teachers and doctors!
Early Bird Reading
In Class 6, children, parents and staff are really enjoying the 'Early Bird' reading! Thank you to everyone who is reading with their child for 5-10 minutes every morning! It is proving to be a really calm and worthwhile activity. The children are such keen readers, please keep up the great work at home too and read some of your favourite stories to them!
To help your children at home...
As always, please continue to listen to
your child read daily, plus share stories with them.
This has such a significant impact on their education!
Also, please continue to practice recalling number bonds to 10 and 20. Ie 3 + 7 = 10, 12 + 8 = 20
Our PE days are: Tuesdays and Thursdays. Please ensure your child has a named PE kit in school at all times.
Our certificates this week have been awarded to:
Tyler - for writing with such independence!
Tyler - for fanatstic comparing number work.
Marshall and Sennen
Bella - for taking such care with her handwriting!
Terrific Twos continue to show us that they are kind, helpful members of the class, always demonstrating great behaviours for learning, they read at home regularly plus always bring their PE kit to school. They consequently deserve the honour of being a Terrific Two! I wonder who will be the first to be announced this year!
