Welcome to Class 4!
We are the Yellow Busy Bees and we are Year 1 children. Miss Rowe is our teacher and we are supported by Miss Carthew and Miss Greenaway. Our classroom is a bright vibrant learning environment with lots of opportunities to explore and develop our learning.
We have been working really hard this week in all areas of our learning.
In English we are learning the traditional tale of the Magic Porridge Pot. We will be using actions and story mapping to help us remember and re-write the story.
In Maths we are learning to recognise and use different coins. We will take part in lots of practical learning to help us understand the different denominations.
In PHSE, we are learning to listen carefully to others and work as a team co-operatively. Class 4 are half way to getting their mystery present by receiving stickers for every time they work together co-operatively - keep it up Class 4!!
The Early Bird Reading mornings are now in full swing, thank you for supporting your child settle with a book in the morning! Please ensure that you are still reading with your child at home to support thir ongoing development.
To help your children at home...
We are always practicing our counting. To support your child you could count forwards and backwards along a numberline. Maybe make a giant numberline and jump along it together.
Write some number sentences: 7 + 5 = 8 or 10 - 4 = 6
You could listen to your child retell the story of the Magic Porridge Pot and learn the actions to support them in reciting the story.
Our PE days are: Wednesday, Thursday and Friday
- Please ensure you child has a named PE kit in school at all times.
Our certificates this week have been awarded to:
Tia and Heidi
Congratulation to Tia and Luana who became Class 4's newest Wonderful One's. They are fantastic examples of how Wonderful One children need to behave.
